Do I need a special pump?
It works best with a Danner Mag-drive pump rated 500–1800 GPH under 10 psi. If your setup uses a higher-pressure pump, the Penguin team is available to help you adjust.

Can it be used outdoors?
The standard model is intended only for indoor use or covered environments—not fully exposed to elements.

How much clearance is needed for airflow?
To keep it cooling efficiently, leave at least 6″ around the sides/top and 12″ at the back to let air circulate freely.

How do I maintain the unit?
For upkeep: unplug before servicing, clean the rear coil with compressed air as needed, and use white vinegar solution if flushing internal passage
